Certified Nutritionists (NNCP, RHN) and Registered Dietitians (RD) both provide responsible nutrition advice to help you maintain or improve your health.  Your health goals may be a healthy weight, managing health conditions, or preventing disease. Nutritionists and Dietitians both work to help you achieve your health goals but have different educational paths and roles within the healthcare system.

As a Holistic Nutritionist, my role is to educate, provide nutritional counselling, and to focus on whole natural foods to help you accomplish your health goals. My training also includes integrated wellness topics including lifestyle changes and self-care. Dietitians are regulated healthcare professionals with training geared towards clinical work within a hospital setting, research and public health.

Choosing a nutrition practitioner that is right for you depends on their overall experience and what level of ongoing support they provide.  Having support along your journey is essential to lasting success. Above all, you should look for a nutrition practitioner that is committed to ongoing professional development, and, that their philosophy of personal wellness aligns with yours.
